WARRANTY PRODUCTS COMING CLOSER TO USED DEVICES & RETAIL REPAIR

TULSA, Okla. — RepairQ, the industry-leading provider of business management software in the wireless repair industry, is launching a new feature and integration that will change how consumer protection plans are offered and managed in the used-devices industry, a market estimated at $12 billion.

This new feature delivers sales, controls and claims processing all within a retailer’s point-of-sale environment. It will address the critical concerns that have prevented protection-plan product groups and underwriters from widely participating in the used device market, especially through the retail repair channel.

Through a unique partnership with Warranty Life, a warranty management and technology company based in Vancouver, RepairQ will be able to seamlessly deliver protection plans written for used devices and tailored to retail repair chains in US and Canadian markets, with plans to expand offerings globally.

Richard Hui, CEO of Warranty Life, expects this to benefit both consumers and stores and is eager for the launch.

“The market is still relatively untapped,” Hui said. “This integration will allow customers who didn’t buy a protection plan from their carrier, to buy one from a local repair store after paying for a repair out of pocket. It’s a great opportunity to help your customers, while also retaining them long term.”

From time of sale all the way to claims tracking, pairing RepairQ’s new features with the integrated products and systems of Warranty Life will provide a seamless process for retailers. Not only will each participating store open new sales opportunities, but they will create a dynamic that drives consumer loyalty to their local stores for warrantable repair fulfillment.

With no overhead costs, little training required, and simplified processes, new dealers will be able to start selling and servicing their own warranties with minimal effort. To ensure program efficiency and effectiveness, the program can be directly measured by participating retailers within RepairQ and is expected to be enhanced over time.

RepairQ and Warranty Life will continue to launch additional services and product features in the near future, which will strengthen and complement the existing program. Plans covering institutional programs and other refurbished hardware offerings such as laptops, gaming systems and tablets are already in development.
